We are a small, highly experienced,family run company with over 30 years experience in the industry. We formally established PDS Design Ltd over 5 years ago and are currently based at Quaystone House in Tingley, Wakefield, a fast growing and rapidly expanding business section of Yorkshire.

Structure Design

We regularly design projects using re-inforced concrete, steel framed construction, masonry and timber.

Foundation Design

We design foundations for a wide range of buildings and structures. These include bored and driven piled foundations, re-inforced concrete ground beams and raft constructions.

Designs of underpinning or other foundation stabilisation or improvement works are part of the expert comprehensive design service we provide. Our underpinning designs may take various forms, from mass concrete underpinning, concrete pad and re-inforced concrete beams/slabs, to piled underpinning or more specialist techniques.

Ground and Foundation investigation

Investigations are carried out to gain a proper understanding of the ground and foundation conditions, to enable an efficient design of foundations, structures, ground works and retaining walls.

Our investigations include a detailed visual inspection of the site and may include trial pit exploratory work of the ground and foundations if required.

Re-furbishment Design

We have considerable experience in the re-furbishment of existing buildings. Crucial to appropriate and ecomonic design of such projects, it is important to conduct a careful inspection and appraisal of the existing building and proposed future use.

Our designs will encompass measures to remedy current defects, strenghten the building as neccessary and encourage longevity with appropriate maintenence levels and procedures. These measures will typically include attention to the structural frame, concrete and material defects and the corrosion of steel.

All refurbishment and remedial schemes would be carried out in close liason with the statutory authorities.
